A poem
In praise of the poet

Her words dance and sway,
speaking truth in musical rhymes,
calling out injustice in society’s cracks and seams.
Demanding change for those pushed to the margins and edges,
her words prance and pirouette
across the page, rhythmic and alive.
Truths are spoken, loud and clear
in melodic verses that shimmer and thrive,
shedding light in the forgotten spaces
where injustice festers and inequality lives.
Societal wrongs are called to the floor,
double standards and biases, no more.
The musicality of her language decrees
change must come for the marginalized and disenfranchised,
no longer pushed to the fringes out of sight
their voices are lifted, their struggle for equity and justice ignited.
Her poignant poetry resonates deep
stirring hearts and minds awake from hypnotic sleep.
As her rhythmic words sway and sweep,
seeds of change are steadily sown,
growth slowly spreading
till justice has fully grown.
