THE LARK
A poem

Love lurks in wispy clouds, unseen but felt,
shaping fates with its gravitational pull.
Its ways are mercurial and mysterious.
Love hints at its power in transits of the heart,
brief eclipses when souls interlace.
In these eclipses, it reveals partial truths,
flashes of its incandescent essence.
Those enraptured by love’s strange magic
seek signs and omens.
They note the sympathetic vibrations between kindred spirits,
resonances that ripple across light-years.
Love expresses itself through uncanny coincidences,
brings together improbable partners.
They follow arcane instincts into each other’s orbit,
drawn by otherworldly forces.
To the logical mind,
love’s winding course seems eccentric, elliptical.
It defies rational laws,
follows its own plan.
Yet in love’s unusual plan, there is meaning,
the logic of the sublime.
Its convoluted equation, once solved,
unlocks the sacred geometries of the heart.
