IMOGENE’S NOTEBOOK
A poem

On a velveteen lit night,
I dream a full rainbow.
Two hearts sewn by a constellation,
under the moon’s silk woven garb.
I drift in dreams of a breathless kiss,
that this crystal world cannot shatter.
Its memory, like some recurring dream,
leaves a stain as it begins to fade.
Parting now is just a distant thought,
like a sad wisp of air.
Peppered clouds reflected on water,
silhouettes scrawled on the mind’s darkened wall.
That moonlit melody, that silvered tune,
now just white glitter and long forgotten notes
flittering wearily down memory lane.
I am content in solitude.
