ever hopeful for affection or adventure.
Your loyal heart measures out my life
in joyful beats.
In the loneliness of morning,
you are my cheerful companion,
ready to seize the day.
Your restless spirit stirs me to motion.
As hours pass in studious silence,
you curl content at my feet,
keeping watch over my musing with patient nobility.
Your calm, steady breath sets a meditative tempo.
When frustration or sadness strikes,
you are consolation on four legs,
offering solace in simple devotion.
Your unconditional love asks no return.
You race to greet me at day’s end,
as if I’ve been gone a lifetime.
Your exuberance reminds me
that each moment is a gift.
In your eyes, I see my better self reflected.
As dusk settles, we nestle together,
your warmth kindling well-being,
your tranquil presence a shelter
from storms beyond walls.
Tonight and every, my truest friend,
you are home itself.
My days are measured
in acts of service and companionship.
