A poem

Thoughts cascade, a churning river
in my mind, tossed by rapids,
swept away in swirling eddies,
while the ground beneath me disappears,
adrift without anchor,
lost in the currents of rumination.
A deep breath, a moment of stillness,
then back to the simplicity of this breath,
this heartbeat,
a soft return to senses.
The warmth of sun on skin,
wind whispering ancient wisdom.
I feel again the earth supporting me,
for I am already home in this body,
this ever-changing now.
Let the leaves flutter and fall,
the river flow on its meandering path.
I watch it all pass
without grasping.
