I just came across this web page, and of course the last piece of info caught my eye.... on the relevancy of rhyming poetry. There is no way rhyming poetry is a relic of bygone days. I would speak in rhyme every day of my life if it was socially acceptable, And I am not exaggerating but I am smiling. Sometimes when people aren't rhyming it's almost like it's fast and loose, uncontrolled, like a kite with no tether just freaking bouncing all over the place. I feel like the rhymes keep it reeled in... keep it structured even if it's not structured... I might not be making sense but I just felt like I had to share. As I sit here finishing up the editing on a book of poetry, a chap book that I'm about to publish, I just keep telling myself there's a lot of people out there that like rhymes. And I have mastered the art. Happy New Year!
