A poem

As day acquiesces to the might of night,
a red sunset bleeds onto a blue sky
and dust specks dance and play
while shadows mask green leaves in silhouette.
Vermilion tints the horizon with
cinnabar tints, and in contrast,
a meld of teal and turquoise hues
dabble clouds with purple and grey.
Dusk absorbs the essence of light,
sketching trees with blackened inks
as a silvered glitter ball slowly rises,
moving silently towards the sky’s velveteen blanket.
