A poem
earth’s embrace
accepting what was once hers
a fleeting vessel returned
to the lap of the mother
lowered gently
into the hallowed ground
a fragile shell discarded
a spirit’s embodiment abandoned
flower petals drifting, tears like rain
blessing the furrowed soil
where roots took hold
from earth, formed and shaped
by joys and sorrows
to now rejoin her depths
dust to ashes
ashes to dust
all to atoms
once more
