A poem

life handed me an orange
i stared at it
perplexed
what was i to do with this
citrus sphere?
peel it?
squeeze it?
let it sit
and collect dust?
the vibrant hue
beckoned me
its zesty aroma
filling the air
i pondered its purpose
its reason for being
as the sun’s rays
danced across its surface
should i slice it
dice it
or simply take a big
juicy bite?
the decision
weighed heavily
a conundrum
to be solved
in the end
i chose to savour
each moment
relishing the tangy sweetness
as it burst upon my tongue
for when life
gives you an orange
you embrace it
relish it
and enjoy the moment
