A poem

the mirror cracks
shattering the reflection we once shared
your half of the glass now empty
a void where you lived
I search for you
in the familiar creases of my face
but you have departed this earthly plane
leaving me to mourn
our twin souls once inseparable
severed by death’s cruel hand
half of me is gone, lost
without your other half to make me whole
I crane my neck
to glimpse your spirit in another time
but I am alone
now a solitary twin
with no one to mirror
