A poem

i am
of shattered pieces,
waves of vulnerability
crashing against the shore.
each swell, each rupture
has carved me anew,
exposing my raw, tender depths,
my innermost truths laid bare.
i am not smooth, polished stone,
but jagged, weathered coastline,
shaped by the relentless tides
of life’s powerful currents.
yet, in this brokenness,
there is strength, resilience -
for the wet that seasons my soul
also preserves my essence.
i am a sea of my own making,
a testament to the beauty
that can arise from
what has cracked me open.
