A poem

we are the sum of all our conversations,
the held hands, the shared glances.
in the arithmetic of us, love is the constant.
we are not mere individuals, isolated entities.
no, we are the product of every interaction, every exchange.
the words we’ve spoken, the silences we’ve shared,
the fleeting touches, the lingering gazes,
these are the building blocks of our shared existence.
in the intricate equation of our relationship
love is the essential variable, the unchanging value.
it is the constant that binds us, that infuses
every moment, every gesture, every whispered intimacy.
without love, we would be but hollow sums
bereft of meaning, of substance, of purpose.
but with love as our guiding force, our north star,
we become something greater than the sum of our parts.
our held hands, they are not just appendages entwined,
but the physical manifestation of our intertwined souls.
our shared glances, they are not just eyes meeting eyes,
but the windows through which our spirits recognize one another.
in this way, we are the living, breathing proof
that the whole is indeed greater than its components.
for in the alchemy of our relationship, our conversations,
love transmutes the individual into the infinite “us”.
so let us continue to speak, to touch, to gaze,
and in doing so, we add to the ever-expanding equation,
the ever-evolving story that is the math of our love.
and in that story, love will forever reign supreme.
