A poem

In the face of a dismissive world
our love melts into far corners,
farther than my eyes can see,
frozen hearts barely able to beat.
A vapid sprite of flesh and mind,
flirting as ash, dusted and scattered.
A coming together of thoughts
and infinite timeless memories.
Gentle words linger over the haze
and blow softly through leaves,
covered in black water and sleet,
as fragile as snowflakes in the breeze.
What are words but air, carried on the wind.
Carved in stone, they are merely the symbols of choice,
a spark in the mind, a bright light to inspire
the illusion of control.
